Single of the Week: Jo Harman – Sweet Man Moses

At MTM we have been big supporters of Jo Harman for some time now and we were delighted to hear the other day that she had been nominated for an award by the ‘British Blues Awards.’ It was only later that we found she had made the final stages of voting for ‘Best Original Composition.’ Go on Jo! So we wanted to commemorate this incredible achievement and make Jo’s re-worked version of ‘Sweet Man Moses’ our single of the week.

This beautiful ballad written in the light of her father’s premature death, is a song brimming with emotion and heartache. This song tells of a man who had his faults like every man does but also of his kind and warm nature. Featuring the fantastic Watersign Horns from Atlanta, Georgia this six minute ballad is a must have on your iTunes library.

In light of Jo making the final stages, the ‘blues’ community are now firmly behind her, with the lovely people at ‘Blues in Britain’ magazine making ‘Sweet Man Moses’ available for free download. We don’t want you to miss out, so we attached the link at the bottom. So go grab your copy today!

For those of you wanting to hear Jo live and find out what all the fuss is about, then you’re in luck as she is playing this weeks Alternative Escape at the Latest Bar on Wednesday. With support coming from the fantastic House of Hats, StopGoSixty and Mike Davis, you would be mad not to come down.
